NMC Foundation

The NMC Board of Regents established the NMC Foundation in 1999 for the purpose of acquiring, managing, and disbursing funds from alternative sources to support the advancement of NMC's educational programs and services. The Foundation is a non-profit organization composed of committed community volunteers, primarily from the business sector, who are dedicated to improving higher education in the CNMI by encouraging private and public support for Northern Marianas College.

NMC Foundation Accomplishments

On Feb 1 and 2, 2008 the NMC Foundation held the first ever NMC Comedy Show featuring the comedic styling of Augie T. With both shows sold out the foundation was able to raise scholarship funds for the NMC Foundation scholarship fund.

In April 2008, the Foundation held its 6th Annual NMC Foundation Golf Tournament raising $95,000 in Educational Tax Credit donations. The tournament was a success with the help of NMC staff, students and volunteers. As part of college month the Foundation decided to hold the event in April. Under the leadership of former Foundation President Vicente Babauta and former Vice-President Michael Von Siebenthal the golf tournament fundraising goal was met and surpassed by $30,000. As of September 2006, the NMC Foundation Board of Directors has full membership of 15 volunteers from the CNMI Private Sector. Future fundraising events are being developed.
