Free Waivers for NMC Cash for College Workshop Participants (June 10, 2013)

Individuals who participate in the Northern Marianas College’s upcoming “Cash for College” workshop will qualify to have their NMC Fall 2013 admission application fee and placement test fees waived. The waiver represents a savings of up to $75.

The free workshop will be held this Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Building A at the NMC As Terlaje campus. The workshop will be an ongoing session, so participants can stop by any time between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The aim of the Cash for College Workshop is to assist students and their parents in maximizing scholarship opportunities that are available to students seeking to obtain a college education. The workshop is open to both new and ongoing NMC students. Students who plan on attending other post-secondary institutions may also take advantage of the free services available at the workshop.

Participants will also be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the College Access Challenge Grant Scholarship, the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance program, the CNMI Scholarship, the TEACH Grant and more.

During this event, NMC Student Services representatives from counseling, financial aid, and admissions will be on hand to assist workshop participants and answer questions.

It is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid passport, birth certificate, or green card), at least three official transcripts, signed 2012 1040 tax form (2012 W-2 statements if you and/or your parents did not or will not file taxes), proof of CNMI residency for 2011 and 2012 (for example, CNMI 1040 tax form, Employment Verification from your employer, Official Transcripts, Voter’s Certification, etc.).
