NMC Offers More Online Courses this Fall (August 6, 2013)

The Northern Marianas College is offering more courses online this Fall 2013 semester to meet the needs of working individuals, students on Tinian and Rota, and also those who benefit from more flexible class hours.

The variety of online courses at NMC may be entirely online or may be a “hybrid” course, which is a course that blends both online instruction and face-to-face interaction between students and instructors. Those who are planning to register for an online or hybrid course this Fall semester are highly encouraged to attend the NMC Online Orientation offered by the Office of Distance Learning Education.

The orientation is designed to better prepare students for online and hybrid courses and will cover topics such as Attendance, Interactivity, Netiquette, Software and System Requirements, Online Success Tools, and Time Management Tips. There will orientations for students on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.

The NMC Online Orientation will be 2.5 hours in length and a certificate of participation will be awarded to those who attend. Students are also requested to bring their NMC Student Email, registration information, or valid photo I.D. to the orientation. Note the schedule below with changes for Tinian and Rota:

Those unable to attend the NMC Online Orientation can access helpful resources online at by using their NMC Student Email to create a new account on NMC Online if they do not have one.

Note that attendance at these orientations does not exempt the mandatory attendance for all courses on the first day of class time and location as listed on the Fall 2013 Class Schedule.
