Parents of High School Grads Invited to Summit (June 5, 2015)

The Northern Marianas College is inviting parents of graduating high school seniors from CNMI high schools to its second Parent Summit event.

The aim of the Parent Summit is to provide parents with practical information and resources they need to help their graduating senior prepare for and succeed in college. Topics of the summit include: “the value of a college education;” “paying for college;” “how to be a supportive parent;” and more.

According to Leo Pangelinan, Dean of Student Services, attendance at the Parent Summits is a great way for parents to learn how to become meaningfully involved in their children’s pursuit of higher education.

“Participants will also gain strategies for how to provide encouragement, particularly about academic issues related to their college-going children,” Pangelinan added. “There will also be discussions about many resources that are available for college students.”

The Summits will be held on the following days:
  • Saipan July 11 8:30am-1:00pm Saipan World Resort.
  • Tinian June 20 2:30pm-7:30pm Dynasty
  • Rota June 20 8:00am to 1:00pm Bayview Hotel

Lunch/Dinner will be served.

There is no fee to attend these summits.
