Tropical Storm Chan-Hom Update as of 5am, July 5, 2015

The latest weather update from the Emergency Management Office regarding Typhoon Chan-Hom is attached here.

A typhoon warning remains in effect for the islands of Saipan and Tinian and their coastal waters. Typhoon conditions including 74 mph are possible within 24 hours.

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the island of Rota and their coastal waters. Tropical storm conditions including winds of 39 to 73 mph are occurring or expected within the next 12 hours.

Because of the anticipated threat of Typhoon Chan-Hom, Governor Eloy S. Inos has upgraded Typhoon Condition II to Typhoon Condition I for the islands of Saipan and Tinian and up-graded Tropical Storm Condition II to Tropical Storm Condition I for the island of Rota as of 5:00am this morning.

Residents of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota should maintain necessary precautionary measures for gusty strong winds and heavy rain showers and possible flooding in low lying areas associated with Typhoon Chan-Hom.
