NMC announces additional placement tests and Orientation Sessions (Aug. 15, 2016)

Northern Marianas College today announced that it will conduct additional English and math placement tests and student orientation sessions for students that will need to complete prior to registering for courses. The additional dates are as follows:

Placement Tests:

  • Aug. 15th (Monday) at 9am
  • Aug. 16th (Tuesday) at 1pm
  • Aug. 17th (Wednesday) at 9am
  • Aug. 18th (Thursday) at 1pm
Video Orientation (1.5 hrs):
  • Aug. 15th (Monday) at 1pm & 3pm
  • Aug. 16th (Tuesday) at 9am & 11pm

Each test/orientation date/time can only accommodate 11 students. Students are advised to contact the Testing Center at 237-6774 or send an email to [email protected] to reserve a space at one of these events. Placement Testing & Video Orientations will take place at the Testing Center in Bldg. I.

Furthermore, students who have not enrolled in an online course at NMC will be required to complete the Discover Online Learning Course (DOL) prior to enrollment in an online course. This is a one-week course intended to provide students with an in-depth orientation to distance learning at NMC. The course is free, but students have up until 12pm, Aug. 12th (Friday) to sign-up for the course.

To sign up for the Discover Online Learning Course, students must send an email (from NMC-issued student email only) to [email protected] with the following information:

  1. First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name
  2. Student ID#
  3. Program of Study
  4. Answer to the Question: Do you have access to the internet at home?
