Continuing its efforts to support higher education in the Marianas, Marianas Pacific Distributors or Marpac recently donated $3,000 in cash and beverages to Northern Marianas College for its upcoming golf tournament.

The 16th Annual NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2020, will be the first major golf tournament of the year. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to helping the college recover from Super Typhoon Yutu, which destroyed 85% of NMC’s facilities and classrooms.

“We are proud to be able to support Northern Marianas College and its efforts to support higher education,” said Guy Pudney, resident manager of Marpac. “I encourage other companies to support the College as well.”

“Having Marpac as a sponsor has always boosted the excitement of the event,” said Frankie Eliptico, NMC interim president. “We are grateful for the company’s continued support.”

The 16th Annual NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, March 21, at the Saipan LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort (East Course). Showtime is at 6 a.m., and the shotgun start will be at 7 a.m. The tournament will follow a medal play format.

First place winners in the men’s championship, A, B, C, senior, and ladies flights will each receive $500, while $300 and $200 will go to the second and third place finishers, respectively. Hole-in-one prizes include a 2020 Kia Soul from Joeten Motors, and two $5,000 hole-in-one prizes from McDonald’s and Pacifica Insurance. The tournament will also feature many other items such as raffle prizes like airline tickets, meal gift certificates, gym memberships, and much more.
