Northern Marianas College 2021 nursing graduate Rodileen Morales has joined the list of students who have passed the challenging National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN.

“We commend Rodileen for this accomplishment and expect to see great things from her as her educational and professional journey continues,” NMC President Galvin Deleon Guerrero, EdD said.

The NCLEX-RN tests an individual's nursing knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry level. The exam is used by nursing boards in all U.S. states and territories to award nursing licenses.

“We are very proud of Rodileen and we wish her the best of luck in her career,” NMC Nursing Department Chair Rosa T. Aldan said. "Passing the NCLEX-RN and then being licensed as a Registered Nurse are great achievements."

According to Morales, she had always wanted to be a nurse since she was a child.

“I have always wanted to pursue a nursing career ever since I was little, so achieving this dream feels amazing,” Morales said. “I grew up wanting to pursue a career in the medical field because I will be able to help those in our community.”

Morales added that NMC’s nursing instructors helped her prepare for the NCLEX.

“Towards the last semester of the program, the instructors allocated time for NCLEX review sessions which were very helpful,” Morales said. “Having a strong support system of friends and family who believed in me also contributed to me passing the NCLEX.”

For students who are planning to take the exam, Morales said that they should take all the time they need to prepare.

“Take your time and believe in yourself,” Morales said. “You may tend to doubt or second guess your knowledge, abilities, or your skills, but believing and trusting yourself really makes a huge difference in preparing for the NCLEX.”
