As part of its efforts to recognize and acknowledge staff members’ hard work and commitment to students, the Northern Marianas College’s Staff Senate named three employees as “Staff of the Quarter” awardees.

The three individuals are Database Administrator Renedel Buno, Extension Agent for the Family, Community, and Youth Development Program of NMC’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services Robbie Suzuki Jr., and Interim Director for Marketing and Communications Raynard Travilla. Each of them will receive a monetary prize and a reserved parking slot for the quarter.

“Congratulations to Renedel Buno, Raynard Travilla, and Robert Suzuki, Jr. for your enthusiasm, quiet strength, and devotion to the work of the college,” said Geri Rodgers, NMC Staff Senate President.  “You are greatly appreciated!"

The Staff Senate sponsored the Summer Coffee Connection to celebrate three staff members.  They were nominated and voted by their peers for the coveted title of Staff of the Quarter, NMC Staff Senate President Geri Rodgers said.

“I am very grateful to the Staff Senate and the PROA Family for this recognition,” Buno said. “It is an honor to be working alongside this community. Also, I want to thank my fellow team members at the Information Technology department and the Office of institutional Advancement – my work would not be possible without their help and support.”

Travilla said that he is honored to receive the distinction.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” Travilla said. “I would like to thank NMC’s Staff Senate and the staff members that voted. I would also like to thank and recognize the team that I work with on a daily basis at the Office of Institutional Advancement because they are just as deserving of this recognition as me.”

Suzuki also shared the same sentiments.

“I want to thank the NMC College Community for voting me as staff of the quarter,” Suzuki said. “This acknowledgement came as a shock to me. All the work that I have done and continue to do within my capacity is to help supply our community and youth members with the skills and opportunities to be self-sufficient and productive members of our society. I am very grateful and honored for this acknowledgment and for all the awesome leadership and mentorship from Dean Patty Coleman, the Program Leaders at CREES, and [former] IP Frankie. I look forward to continuing the work we do at NMC with the leadership of President Galvin Deleon Guerrero.

NMC President Galvin Deleon Guerrero said that he is proud of Buno, Suzuki, and Travilla.

“I want to congratulate Renedel, Robbie, and Ray for earning the recognition from their peers and thank them for their service to our students and the campus community,” said Deleon Guerrero.
