Overview

About this Position

The Green Growth Program Manager is a non-instructional faculty member of the Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services (CREES) located on Saipan and is employed primarily to provide clients with support related to promoting regenerative practices and managing tasks and activities that align with the Green Growth Initiative. The manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining the CNMI Green Growth Dashboard. The position is under the direct supervision of the Dean of CREES or her designee.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Program Manager I: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution (or equivalent).
    • Two (2) years work experience in natural resource management, environmental health, human health, horticulture, marine sciences, business management, ecology, biodiversity, economics or closely related fields.
  • Program Manager II: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution (or equivalent).
    • Four (4) years work experience in natural resource management, environmental health, human health, horticulture, marine sciences, business management, ecology, biodiversity, economics or closely related fields.
  • Program Manager III: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution (or equivalent) plus Six (6) years work experience in natural resource management, environmental health, human health, horticulture, marine sciences, business management, ecology, biodiversity, economics or closely related field Or; 
    • Master’s Degree from a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution (or equivalent) plus Two (2) years work experience in natural resource management, environmental health, human health, horticulture, marine sciences, business management, ecology, biodiversity, economics or closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in Program Review and Outcomes Assessment.
  • Manages, mentors, and leads a staff and/or student interns, work study students, and fellow colleagues.
  • Must have strong computer background including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, and database, preferably Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and other college stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks while maintaining composure under stressful conditions.
  • Completes and prioritizes tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Takes initiative and works both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in Program Review and Outcomes Assessment (PROA) activities.
  • Sets up and updates the CNMI Growth Dashboard.
  • Lead the implementation of components of the CNMI Green Growth Initiative and other initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Initiate and foster collaborative relationships that will increase NMC’s ability to work with stakeholders to ensure regular updates of Dashboard data and support for the Green Growth plan implementation.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners in order to address the appropriate goals and objectives described in the CREES POW (Plan of Work) and other related projects.
  • Ensures evaluation plans are adhered to in order to document outcomes and impacts.
  • Assists in the planning and preparation of the CREES Plan of Work as well as the annual accomplishment report.
  • Creates and reviews regenerative development education materials such as social media posts, extension guides, e-materials, brochures, bulletin boards, and newsletters to ensure scientific validity and appropriateness of content for target audience.
  • Contribute to knowledge generation, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer activities
  • Take initiative to identify sources of funding and assist with writing grants to implement the Green Growth framework goals, objectives and action items.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote green initiatives and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Organizes and conducts workshops and presentations in the areas of Green Growth regenerative education in collaboration with the program leader.
  • Confers with the dean and program leaders regarding program needs, clients’ progress, and all other program areas to ensure timely and efficient implementation of program strategies.
  • Assists with the implementation of Green Growth competitive grants as needed.
  • Participates in in-service training programs as required, as well as frequent travel interisland or abroad during specified periods of time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions of the Position

Must be able to frequently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. The individual in this position will frequently communicate with students and their colleague(s) in order to exchange information in various situations. Occasionally lifts office products and supplies, weighing up to 20 Ibs.

The employee may be tasked to work outdoors in the sun and heat, on or around wet surfaces, and other areas exposed to the elements.
