Maria Dizon, a Northern Marianas College alumna, was recently awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Leadership from Oregon Health and Science University’s School of Public Health. 

On May 7, 2021, the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents unanimously voted to offer the position of NMC President to Dr. Galvin Sablan Deleon Guerrero. The next step in the presidential search process will be the negotiation of the terms of the contract and the identification of an official start date.

Former Mount Carmel School president Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero has accepted the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents offer to be the next NMC president and he will start transitioning over the summer.

A Northern Marianas College student, Zihan Wang, scored a perfect 5 out of 5 to finish first Saturday in the island’s first chess tournament in over 20 years.  Time control for the five-round Swiss event was 5 minutes with a 3-second delay.
