NMC Students and Employees,

We hope you are doing well and are safe from Tropical Storm Choi-wan. Given the "All Clear" declaration made by CNMI Governor David M. Apatang, the islands of Saipan and Tinian, Northern Marianas College (NMC) will reopen and classes will resume on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Please exercise caution as you return to campus. Although the “All Clear Declaration” has been made, a Gale Warning and Wind Advisory remain in effect, and strong, gusty winds, passing heavy showers, and thunderstorms may continue into this coming week. We ask all students and employees to keep the following in mind:

  • Allow extra travel time. Drive slowly, watch for debris, downed branches, and ponding water on roads, and avoid flooded parking areas. 
  • Use caution walking on campus. Walkways may be slick, and gusts can pick up suddenly, especially during heavy showers. 
  • Report hazards. If you see debris, damages, or leaks, on campus, do not touch or move them. Report them to NMC Security at 670-287-4218.
  • Flexibility. If you need additional time to recover from the storm, please reach out to your instructors or advisors (employees may reach out to supervisors) to discuss your circumstances and any support or flexibility you may need.

Testing Services. The NMC Testing Center is working with the College Board to reschedule SAT tests that were canceled due to Tropical Storm Choi-wan. Students are asked to check their emails regularly for updates.  We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.
