Fall 2026 Classroom & Course Modality Update

Dear NMC Students, we are excited to welcome all of our new and returning students to Northern Marianas College for Fall 2026!

As we prepare for the start of the semester, we would like to provide an important update regarding classroom space. There has been a delay in the construction and availability of the S. Annex classrooms that were expected to provide additional instructional space for the Fall semester.

While we await completion of these classrooms, NMC is working to ensure that your courses can continue with as little disruption as possible. Some hybrid and face-to-face courses will therefore be temporarily adjusted based on available classroom space.

1
In-person time is preserved where space allows
Courses with confirmed classroom space will continue to meet in person for at least one hour, with the remainder of instructional time conducted online.
2
Some courses may be temporarily fully virtual
Some courses may be offered fully virtual if an appropriate classroom space has not yet been identified on campus.
3
Virtual courses will transition back once space is available
Courses temporarily moved to a virtual format may transition back to an in-person or hybrid format once appropriate classroom space becomes available.
4
100% of face-to-face courses will be accommodated
100% of face-to-face courses will be accommodated in available campus facilities, including Buildings K, J, O, P, and V.
5
You'll be notified directly through MOODLE
Students enrolled in courses affected by a temporary change in modality will receive additional information directly from NMC Online (MOODLE) regarding how and when their classes will meet.

We understand that consistency and advance notice are important, particularly as you prepare for the beginning of the semester. We are working diligently to minimize changes and will continue to communicate updates as classroom space becomes available.

Students should continue to regularly check their NMC student email, Portal+, and NMC Online (MOODLE) for course-specific information and instructions from their instructors.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this temporary classroom-space challenge. Our priority is to ensure that you can begin Fall 2026 successfully and have access to the courses and support you need to reach your academic goals.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus!
