The Northern Marianas College (NMC) Board of Regents has announced a leadership transition at the institution as Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero will take official leave of absence from his duties as President of Northern Marianas College, effective July 27, 2026, as he pursues public office.

In accordance with Board of Regents policy, the Board has appointed Mr. Frankie M. Eliptico to serve as Interim President, effective July 27, 2026.

The Board expressed its sincere appreciation for Dr. Deleon Guerrero’s service and leadership during his tenure.

“Dr. Deleon Guerrero has served the College with unwavering commitment and a deep belief in taking care of our community, resources, and people,” said Michelle Lin Sablan, Acting Chairperson of the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents. “The Board extends its sincere appreciation for his dedicated service to Northern Marianas College.”

Acting Chairperson Sablan expressed that Mr. Eliptico has served Northern Marianas College in multiple leadership capacities and most recently as Senior Vice President, where he has overseen critical institutional operations, advancements, and external relations. She added that his extensive knowledge of the institution, leadership experience, and unwavering commitment to the College community make him well-prepared to lead NMC during this transition.

“The Board of Regents has every confidence that the College will continue sailing ahead,” Sablan said. “The important work of serving our students, supporting our employees, strengthening our academic and workforce programs, and fulfilling our mission to the Commonwealth remains our highest priority.”

The Board also expressed its appreciation to the College’s faculty, staff, administrators, students, alumni, and community partners for their continued dedication, particularly as the institution continues recovery activities following recent super typhoons.

“We ask the entire College community to join us in expressing our gratitude to Dr. Deleon Guerrero for his service and in offering your full support to Interim President Eliptico as he assumes this important responsibility,” Sablan said.

“Northern Marianas College will continue its academic programs, student services, and institutional operations without interruption during the leadership transition as it continues serving the students and communities of the Commonwealth,” Sablan added.
