As part of its efforts to recognize and acknowledge staff members’ hard work and commitment to students, the Northern Marianas College Staff Senate named three employees as “Staff of the Quarter” awardees. The three are marketing coordinator Miguel Dandan, financial aid counselor Verna Deleon Guerrero, and accountant Catherine “Kitty” Villagomez. Each of them will receive a monetary prize and a reserved parking slot for the quarter.

The Northern Marianas College 2022 Golf Open will feature tens of thousands of dollars in prizes on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the LaoLao Bay Golf and Resort. NMC is asking companies, organizations and individuals who are interested in sponsoring holes and/or for any in-kind or cash donation to please call 237-6780 for more information.

In its effort to advance post secondary education in the CNMI, the Northern Marianas College has announced that its signature event, the 17th Annual NMC Foundation Golf Open, will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the East Course of the LaoLao Bay Golf and Resort.

Northern Marianas College showed strong enrollment numbers at the start of its Spring 2022 semester, with the College having 1,153 students enrolled. This number represents a slight increase from the same time last year, where NMC also saw high enrollment despite the ongoing challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During a hands-on activity, Dr. Todd Miner of the University of Colorado showed participants how to properly do a log roll.

Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services’ (CREES) Family, Community, and Youth Development program, in partnership with the University of Colorado School of Medicine, was recently awarded a $47,000 grant from the National Hazard Center to strengthen community resilience in the U.S. territories.
