Northern Marianas College nursing graduates Maria Calma and Sean Apasan have joined the long list of NMC students who have passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN.

As part of the Northern Marianas College’s continued efforts to enhance the CNMI’s healthcare workforce capacity, NMC recently graduated 18 trainees from its Nursing Assistant Program.

18 high school students successfully completed Rota’s inaugural annual Aquaculture Summer Youth Academy at the NMC Rota Center hosted by Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services (NMC-CREES) Aquaculture and Natural Resources (A&NR) program from July 29th to August 2nd, 2024.

Northern Marianas College will showcase the work of up and coming local filmmakers when it hosts “Marianas Lens”, a showcase of short and feature films on Thursday, August 22 at American Memorial Park starting at 5:00 pm. Award-winning films will include “Steps on the Shore” by Elijah Pajarillaga, “Two of a Kind” by Jedric Villar, “Home’s Second Chance” by Sheryne Yang, “Tala” by Justin Ocampo, and “ISLA: Isla'n Esperånsa” by Galvin Deleon Guerrero. Screenings will be followed by a panel discussion with some of the filmmakers.

Over the summer, two Northern Marianas College Pre-Engineering Students, Kyle Attao and Issac Han, gained valuable firsthand experience through an internship with the CNMI Department of Public Works.

Students and parents who need assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are invited to register for Northern Marianas College’s Free FAFSA Workshop at NMC’s Olympio T. Borja Memorial Library on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
