The U.S. Department of Agriculture - National Institute of Food and Agriculture has awarded the Northern Marianas College’s Natural Resource Management (NRM) Program $197,000 to build student and professional capacity in agricultural and natural resource management through upcoming Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing coursework at NMC. 

Ambrosio "Ambi" Alubia, a longstanding Rota-based farmer, has recently taken significant steps towards incorporating regenerative agriculture into his farming portfolio. In June 2023, he participated in the Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services’ Regenerative Agriculture Workshop designed for commercial farmers. Following this workshop, he expressed his intention to engage in the application process for commercial farmer's regenerative agriculture technical assistance.

Coordinated by Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute (CDI), the CNMI Public Assistance Office (PAO) recently completed the GovComms: Effective Communication for Government Employees Training Initiative, a four-session government communication program designed to improve communication skills, teamwork, and productivity in the workplace.

Sixty students from the Northern Marianas College pledged to distinguish themselves through academic excellence by contributing to the community and the Commonwealth through various community service and leadership activities as new members and officers of the Beta Lambda Psi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa or PTK International Honor Society.
