Northern Marianas College recently honored six of its employees with the 2025 Proa Awards, recognizing their exceptional contributions, dedication, and service to the College and its students. Each year, NMC presents these awards to faculty and staff members who exemplify the College’s mission, values, and commitment to student success. This year’s awardees were celebrated for their professionalism, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the NMC community.

Fourteen students recently graduated from the Penn Foster Dental Assistant Training Program, a collaborative effort between the Northern Marianas College Area Health Education Center (NMC-AHEC), the NMC Center for Training and Innovation (CTI), the College of Micronesia–FSM’s Doctors and Dentists for Tomorrow program, and Penn Foster.

The Northern Marianas College (NMC) Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Services (CREES) Nutrition & Health is working to make proven federal nutrition education resources more relevant for families in the CNMI and the U.S.-affiliated Pacific. Through a partnership with Colorado State University (CSU), NMC-CREES is adapting the Eating Smart, Being Active (ESBA) curriculum with photos of familiar faces, local landmarks, and island-grown fruits and vegetables. ESBA is the curriculum of choice in over 40 U.S. states and territories. This effort reflects national priorities to deliver efficient, results-driven programs that strengthen families and communities. The curriculum is throughout all 50 states including its territories.
