NMC Professor of Social Sciences and Fine Arts Dr. James "Jim" Kline recently published his book, Nonrational Logic in Contemporary Society, a book that explores modern examples of beliefs that defy logic but nevertheless are enthusiastically embraced by legions of contemporary people living in technologically advanced societies.

Palacios, in consultation with CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) and the National Weather Service (NWS Guam) Weather Forecast Office (WFO), has declared Typhoon Condition II for the islands of Saipan and Tinian, and maintained Typhoon Condition III for the island of Rota as of 2:00 p.m. today, October 9, 2023. Northern Marianas College School of Education alumni, Jiwon Rebekah Lee, was recently awarded the 2023 District Teacher of the Year at Jubilee Westwood in San Antonio, Texas. Lee, a fifth grade elementary school teacher, has also been recognized as Teacher of the Year for the past two consecutive academic years.
